1. What is a zipline?

A zipline is a steel cable strung from tree to tree which utilizes gravity to propel riders high above the ground on an exciting eco adventure tour.  Ziplines are not a new technology and have been around for over a hundred years. Ziplines have been used around the world to access remote areas such as the rainforest or the Australian outback. Experience Indiana Zipline Tours and you will understand why flying through the forest on a zipline is unlike anything you have ever done before and will not soon be forgotten. We use the Breakhawk breaking system. 


2. Is it safe?

Our zipline course was professionally built and we inspect the zipline course, equipment, and bus daily. Universal Zipline Technology inspects every aspect of the courses yearly.  Guests glide through the air using a breakhawk, pulley, climbing harness, and dual lanyards, conforming and exceeding industry standards for load capacity.  From first time zippers to the most seasoned riders out guides will be with you every step of the way to ensure a safe and exciting zipline experience.  We just ask that all riders follow the safety instructions or they will be escorted off the course without a refund.


3. How how many ziplines are on your course and how long are they?

Our tour consist of 8 ziplines, 1 swinging bridge, and 4 suspended floating platforms in the trees!  The length of each ziplines fluctuates from 150 ft to 2000 ft. and the highest point is approx. 80 ft high. 

4. How long does it take to complete the tour?

Plan on spending approximately 1 to 2 hours with us depending on the size of the tour group.  The exact length of our tours are based on the amount of guest per group (maximum of 10 guests), so the time may change based on number of participants. (These tour times include “gear up” time.) You’re asked to arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time to check in and gear up as we leave prompty on the hour.


5. Do you have to climb up a lot of stairs or walking?

We use the natural contours of the land. We do not have any large towers on our course. There are approximately 9 stairs total. You will zip platform to platform with one ground landing, as this is a true "Canopy" tour.  We have a short walk of approx. 100 yards. 


6. Are there a weight or age restriction?

Our zipline tour is great for thrill seekers of all ages 3 to 103!  We do ask that children be at least 3 years of age and must be able to fit into our smallest harness.  (All minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)

This is an adult zipline course but our staff has been specially trained to work with small children to ensure the safest ride for each and every guest. 

There is not a minimum weight limit

Maximum weight limit is 275 pounds and guests must be able to fit into a 46" waist harness.  

(Harnesses size is for 46" waist & 27" thigh)

For your saftey, we weigh each rider at the time of check in. 

(This policy is strictly enforced & NO REFUNDS will be given)


Legal Restrictions:

Completion of a waiver form is required to zipline.  You will receive a link to sign our online waivers after you have booked your zipline tour. Call our office to receive another link to your waiver if you have not received one.

Relatives other than the actual parents or legal guardians cannot sign the waiver for a minor by law.

7. What physical restrictions are there?

This adventure is designed for persons in good physical condition. Pregnant women, guests with existing injuries and/or seizure disorders are prohibited. Guests with current or re-occurring medical conditions that may interfere with the participant's safety should not take this tour.  All participants must be able to understand and follow the guides’ instructions at all times. We have taken many groups who have had various limitations and we ask that you call us directly for a "private zipline tour and to discuss any concerns.

8. Do I need to make a reservation?

Zipline tours fill up fast, so a reservation is highly recommended.  Walk-Ins are welcome, but we cannot guarantee you a spot on our tour without a reservation. Our tours have limited spacing of 10 or 12 guests.


9. What kind of weather do you zipline in?

Ziplinning is an excellent all weather activity and our tours will go out rain, shine or high heat.  However, sometimes with very little notice we will make cancellations due to lightening, thunder, high winds or unsafe condtions are at the sole discretion of Indiana Zipline Tours. In these events, alternative dates will be offered and tours will be rescheduled.  There will be no penalty to you if Indiana Zipline Tours must reschedule your tour.  If you are on a tour and it is discontinued because of severe weather and we can't finish your tour, you will receive a rain check to reschedule your tour at a later date. Our goal is your safety and we will cancel if OUR radar detects any severe weather.  While it may be raining in your area, it might not be raining where we are, so please call if you have any questions.


It is your responsibility to provide us with the best mobile number to reach you the day of your tour. We do our best but weather cancellations have happened so be advised.


10. What do I need to bring to Indiana Zipline Tours?

Please bring your payment and signed waiver to expedite the check-in process. Credit cards are just holding your spot and we require that each customer brings their payment in person. Waivers can be signed in person as well. We also recommend you bring a small camera or your cell phone, which we can secure in a pouch, so you can capture photos of your zipline adventure!  You may also rent one of our Go Pros or a Smart Phone holder as well for a small fee.

(Cameras can only be used on No-Brake cables or from the platforms.)


11. What do I need to wear to zipline?

We require closed toe shoes such as tennis shoes or boots. NO FLIP FLOPS or open toed shoes or sandals !! It is important to wear sturdy shoes! Other than that, you may wear whatever you’re comfortable and according to the weather.  We recommend long hair be pulled back and secured.  We do not recommend short shorts as the harness sits on mid thighs and this may be uncomfortable on bare skin.  You will be provided with a harness, gloves and a helmet. 


12. Can I stop after one line if I decide I don’t like it?

If you decide that ziplining is not for you, you can walk down the stairs after our first zipline. One of our guides will walk you back to the office so you can take off your equipment and wait for the rest of your group to finish the tour.  (NO refunds once you are harnessed)  

13. Is it possible to watch and take pictures without going on tour?

Those who do not want to participate can watch and take pictures of participants on the first and second lines. However, it’s impossible to walk along the entire course with our tours because of the terrain and ravines covered. For your safety we ask that you stay within our designated photo zones.


14. Is alcohol allowed?

Since ziplining is considered an extreme sport, Indiana Zipline Tours does not allow alcoholic beverages on property nor do we allow anyone who is exhibiting behavior indicating that they may have been drinking to go on a zip line tour for safety reasons. Anyone who shows signs that they may be intoxicated will be removed from the tour and asked to leave the property. 


15. Do you offer anything special for Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts?

We are always happy to have scouts visit us at Indiana Zipline Tours!  We offer a special Scout Zipline patch for each of the scouts visiting day of their tour.  Please call our office for our Special Scout group rates. 


16. Do you offer Group rates?

We offer 10% discount off during the weekends (Fri, Sat, Sun) & 20% off during the weekdays (Mon. - Thurs.) for groups of 8 or more participants and require a deposit be made at time of making the reservation. (Call for more information)

*** Note:  You are responsible for the amount of guests in your reservation.  Those guests not arriving for your tour that has not cancelled within our cancellation policy will be charged to the credit card on file.  We are holding those spots for you and your guests, and have extra staff in to accommodate large groups. This policy is strictly enforced.

Do you require a deposit on large groups?

Yes, we require a 50% deposit and a credit card on file to hold your reservation. This is only for group rates of 8 or more guests.

* Deposit Refunds:  A 10% service fee will be deducted for credit card fees. 

Can we make individual payments for my large group?

No, in order to receive the group discount, it is the responsibility of the organizer planning your tour to collect all methods of payments and submit a single payment to us.

US Military, Firefighters, Law Enforcements: 10% off  (ID required - Active or retired)

Senior Citizens: 10% off ~ Discount will be applied at check in. Call for any other questions.

Assisted / Private Tours:  We provide "assisted and or private" tours for those who have disabilities or limitations that need extra care.  Please call our office for more information and pricing.

17. Do your zip line guides accept tips?

Yes, while it's not required, it is much appreciated.  Our guides are professional trained to ensure that you have an safe, enjoyable and memorable experience.  Should you feel inclined to leave a tip, the industry standard is 10% - 15% per person.


18. What if I’m going to be late for my zipline tour?

We require you to arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to your scheduled tour time. We use those extra minutes to check you in, use the restrooms, etc. If you know you’re going to be late please call (do not email) with as much notice as possible. We reserve the right to start the tour without you if you are not on time, with no guarantee of getting you in a later time that day. If the tour holds for you, there will be a $40 late fee for your group.  Please note that arriving later than 20 minutes prior to your tour time is considered late, as stated in the zipline confirmation email.  All tours go out on the hour and must go out on time.


19. What is your cancellation policy?

You have up until 72 hours (3 days) prior to the day of your tour to cancel your reservation. You may cancel your tour by calling our office.  A $10 handling fee per person will be deducted for all refunds.

There are no refunds after the 72 hour (3 day) per our cancellation policy. 

If you fail to appear on your booked date, this will be considered a "No Show" and the full amount of your reservation will be charged to your credit card on file at the time of your tour. For each participant that does not arrive for your scheduled tour will also be charged to the credit card on file.  

Our cancellation policy is in place because we hold the tour time for your group and often turn away other customers for that time.

There will be no penalty to you if Indiana Zipline Tours must reschedule your reservation.

Gift Certificates are not refundable and can only be used during our open seasons.  (They can be transferable)
